School Projects

Physical Computing

As part of the HCDE curriculum I took a class on physical computing. This class focused on building successively more difficult interfaces using Arduino and C#.

The culmination for this course was a team project involving three systems that interacted wirelessly.

UX Prototyping

The follow-up to my Physical Computing course was an overview of paper prototpes, laser cutting, 3D printing, video prototyping, and "Wizard of OZ"-style demonstrations.

My final project in this course was a system for teaching the basics of taiko, a form of Japanese drumming. I laser cut a round drumhead of clear plastic, 3D printed legs for it, and used Arduino to light the underside. It ran through the first portion of Matsuri, a popular taiko song. The speed increased with each of three repetitions.
